Our first charity sale collection~!!!

okay today is like our first ever charity sale collection.... what happened~?!!

we went from room to room collecting any unwanted useable items to sell off durin the charity sale....

My lips and tongue are suffering from exhaustion right now. Well who's lips wont suffer from exhaustion if they kept repeating the same dialogue over and over again...

it was more of like this... "hye hello... we are from the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign...do u have any unwanted items that u would like to donate for our charity sale that will be held after Chinese new year~!!!"(i know i have to admit the line was a bit "SKEMA") and i never stopped smiling.... :-)

haha it was quite hilarious watching my friend and I dragging this outrageously humongous blue plastic back from one room to another....

well we managed to gain many items in hand... we got a rice cooker thanx to the Desa Murni collectors~!!! bed sheets and even a perfume...

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the collectors for going out of their way to collect items from each room.... and I would also like to thank those who donated to us.

Seriously thank u....

anwayz the second collection will be held on the 11th of FEBRUARY~! So, for those who didnt get an opportunity to donate yet, u can still get a chance to donate any unwanted items this 11th of February.....

"AIDS. ONE WORD. MANY WORLDS. BELIEVE THAT U CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE "

HIV/AIDS AWARENESS MONTH~!!!

Brace yourself for the red ribbon month.... haha i would put in sound effects there but the "pom kepong pom" band is not available right now... so we just have to make with what we have....

yeay... its our first ever HIV/AIDS awareness month held in the one and only USM health campus, kubang kerian KELANTAN~!!!

to those who might not know whats actually going on....

The HIV/AIDS awareness exco members will be having a "HIV/AIDS awareness month 2008"

WHERE??? like i said USM, helath campus, KELANTAN~!

WHY R U DOING THIS??? simple... to raise money for our campaign in JUNE 2008.... yeah we dont have enough "dough" but no worries, with God's will we are going to make this happen ~!!!!!
at the same time we are able to spread the message to the million of those who are still in the phase of " I dont care, I dont have HIV, why should I help~!" on the importance of knowing the harsh reality of those involved in the fight againts HIV and those who are living with HIV.

someone has to do this.... and it starts from u~!

WHAT ARE THE EVENTS??? most of the events that are held in the HIV/AIDS awareness month are targeted in raising money for our project...

such events are like

"CHARITY SALE" we sell off second hand items with a much lower price.... items range from story books, to really cool fancy item such as my levi's jeans... haha... im selling it for half the price man.... but you have to be a size 27 to fit in them...

"ONE CENT N FIVE CENT DONATION" donate your coins...one cent can really make a difference.... if ure worried that the government is going to abolish the use of one cent then why not just donate the one cent to us.... dont worry we will know what to do with them....

"MOVIE MARATHON"... there will be screening of movies regarding HIV/AIDS.... one ticket will only cost u RM2... "I know its like super cheap right~!!! " even the ever famous nasi uncle in murni cafe cost more than that~!!!" dont worry uncle your still our favourite stall... love your rice~!!!!

We SHOULD ACT NOW~!

Nowadays, around 40 million people are living with HIV throughout the world and the number of people increases in every region, everyday. Malaysia itself is not excluded from the exponential rise of HIV/AIDS especially among young adults. In fact, it is estimated roughly 76,000(between year 1986-2006) Malaysians were reported as infected with HIV, of whom some 9200 had developed AIDS (Resource centre. Malaysian AIDS council). In Malaysia, the highest transmission rate of HIV is via sharing of needle for those intravenous drug users.

The stigma and discrimination that accompanies HIV/AIDS often discourage people from testing for HIV or disclosing their status to their partner. This action will not only fuel the spread of HIV/AIDS but increases the risk of our nation being enveloped by the disease itself. Ignorance of HIV/AIDS put lives at risk.

so i ask... Do you care? do we care?

HIV does not care what colour of skin you have, it does not care about your social status, it does not care what ethnic or racial background you come from...

mothers, fathers, children, men and women... ANYONE can be infected by HIV.... ANYONE

so i ask again... do you care?

some of us might know someone who are infected by HIV...
some of us might be infected by HIV...
some of us might not have a clue on what is HIV...

we have to stop judging and start caring... YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE~!

SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN FIGHT FOR A WORLD FREE FROM AIDS.... SPREAD THE MESSAGE NOT THE VIRUS~!
